This Last Second is made up for band members: Jared Goins, Steven Cook, Dakota Frontiera, and Gabe Holton.

Future music celebrities are closer to home than you might think.  Right here in Rhea County there is a new Christian rock band, This Last Second.

This Last Second is made up of local high schoolers: Jared Goins, Gabe Holton, Dakota Frontiera, and Steven Cook.  Coming together back in August 2011, the band is still laying down a few roots but has gained some ground.  They have performed at several different churches around the community and plan to continue.

Where the band practices is evident of their style.  You can pass by Matthew’s House, where Jared’s dad is the pastor, in Dayton and hear their music.  Jared, the band’s founder and leader, is usually on lead vocals, piano, and strings.  Dakota is on lead vocals also and plays guitar.  Steven plays drums, guitar, and vocals.  Last but not least, Gabe plays bass.  Jared and Dakota split the song writing, and the lead singer is dependent on who wrote the song.

This Last Second plans to continue writing songs, keep looking for places to play at, and stay close to God.  They have a performance at McDonald’s in Dayton coming up on May 17th and plan to perfrom at the Strawberry Festival.  If you want to know more about the band or have questions about them playing at a function, you can contact any of the members on Facebook or just find them at school.
