Band Performs at Disney World
On Wednesday, April 1, the RCHS marching band departed for a four day stay in Orlando, Florida. The bus ride took an estimated ten hours from Evensville to their destination. Students stayed at the Rozen Plaza Hotel and toured area attractions on their excursion. The band was also given the honor to perform for Disney World in a featured parade.
Epcott was the first stop along the adventure, as the group ventured through the world-renown spot. The second day was spent at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, followed by both Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios on the final day.
“The parade was awesome, in the fact that it featured us mostly!” commented Danielle Doolittle, Senior. “It was crazy to perform for Disney and to represent Rhea County like that,” she added. “My favorite part of the trip was Animal Kingdom…i mean, wow,” Danielle also commented.
At 9:00 PM, the group departed from MGM and boarded the bus back home. “Everyone had so much fun that we just crashed on the bus on the way home,” commented Senior, Lindsey Catlett. “We were exhausted, but we will always remember that trip and I’m sure it will be brought up at a class reunion sometime,” Lindsey added.
