Eagle’s Net Café Takes Flight at Rhea County High School
A new hang out place called Eagle’s Net Café has arrived at RCHS. It is a chance for seniors to relax during second and third period and enjoy coffee, sweet rolls, and the other items that will be available. Another perk is that the Eagle’s Net Cafe is held in the room with the best Wi-Fi in the school, the freshman academy workroom, so students can also surf the web during this free time. The new cafe will take place every Tuesday during second and third period, and any senior may come with teacher’s permission.
Mrs. Cannon, the teacher sponsor of the cafe, says it is meant to be a reward to the seniors, and provides them with place to go where students can play games like Uno, and dominos, and may even become a place to listen to music. Mrs. Cannon also spoke of the possibility of allowing underclassmen to purchase items in-between classes She feels that it will show that the students “can be trusted, just like they are with the hour lunch.” With so much positive feedback from students, Mrs. Cannon is certain that the Eagle’s Nest Cafe will be a success.
Currently, the cafe’s menu consists of coffee for $.50, cappuccinos for $1, and sweet rolls for $1, which are provided by culinary arts students Courtney Milliron, Kara McClendon, and Dillion Williams. The Eagle’s Net Cafe will also accept suggestions for their menu, which can be given to Mrs. Cannon or the culinary arts students.
