2009-10 Clubs & Lunch Activities
With the start of the one hour lunch, suddenly, you’re going to find you have a lot of time on your hands. Listed below, you’ll find a club offered for every interest. Whether you’re a scared freshman just looking for someplace to belong during lunch, a senior trying to take advantage of your last year, or anything in between, joining a club is not only tons of fun and a great way to make new friends, but a little extra involvement in your high school never hurt on a college application. Don’t be afraid to try something new this year!
Andrews’ Arcade – Mrs. Andrew’s room will be open for computer gaming on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Christian Warriors – For bible study, student led devotionals, and prayer, all student and faculty members are invited to meet every Thursday and Friday during lunch in JROTC room.
Contemporary Christian Music Fellowship – All students are welcome to spend their lunch hour fellowshipping and listening to christian contemporary music in Ms. Cannon’s room.
Debate – Students interested in learning the art of debate and sharing their opinions through argument are welcome to meet for debate every Friday during the first half of lunch in Ms. Landreth’s room.
Eagle Honor Choir – All those who love to sing are welcome. Students will learn the fundamentals of vocal music and have the opportunity to participate in the Lee University Honor Choir, Rhea Arts Festival, and school performances. Practices are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes – FCA meets every Thursday at the beginning of lunch in the Little Theatre. Join together for student-led worship, devotionals, and faculty guest speakers. All students and faculty members are welcome.
Key Club – Key Club is a service organization sponsored by Ms. Wood. Members meet on Tuesday in Mrs. Cooksey’s room during the first half of lunch to organize service projects and create ways for students to get involved in the community. Bring your friends for a great way to get involved.
Life Club – Every third Wednesday, Life club, which stands for living in freedom everyday, meets in the band room for free pizza, games, and discussion concerning issues that effect teens.
Photography Club – All students are welcome to join Mr. Hill in the photography room to discuss photography techniques and take on both in school and out of school projects. Photography club meets on Thursday during the first half of lunch.
Skills USA – This club is an opportunity for technical students to show off their skills in a worldwide competition. Skills USA is sponsored by Mr. Hill meets Thursday in the Cosmetology room.
Sportsman’s Society – Students that love to fish, hunt, or just enjoy the outdoors are welcome to join Mr. Derlak in Rm. 5 to make fishing lures and watch videos about hunting and fishing across the globe. Listen for announcements about meeting dates.
Wednesday Book Bunch – All avid readers are encouraged to join Ms. Amy Ballentine in Rm. 25 every Wednesday for book discussion and sharing time.
