Avatar is a must see film for ac­tion lovers and any­one who wants a to­tally new movie ex­pe­ri­ence. The spe­cial ef­fects are the best I’ve ever seen. With a whole new world for di­rec­tor James Cameron to cre­ate, he def­i­nitely doesn’t hold back.

You are dropped onto the planet of Pan­dora, where hu­mans are har­vest­ing a rare ore called un­ob­tainium. The only thing that is block­ing their ac­cess to the moth­er­load of ore, and money, is the home of the lo­cals called the Na’vi. The avatar pro­gram is de­signed to find a diplo­matic so­lu­tion to move the Na’vi so the hu­mans can mine the un­ob­tainium. Here is where Jake Sully’s (Sam Wor­thing­ton) ad­ven­ture be­gins. The avatar pro­gram is an out of body ex­pe­ri­ence where a human’s brain waves are put into a match­ing ge­netic body that looks like a Na’vi. Along the way he meets a lo­cal named Neytiri (Zoe Sal­dana). She is told to teach him the way of the Na’vi and this is where the story changes altogether.

Pan­dora is so thought­fully cre­ated and mind-​​boggling that you won’t want to look away. The land­scape and many new na­tive an­i­mals are in­ge­nious and will have you want­ing more. The Na’vi are also a great achieve­ment for the di­rec­tor. Hav­ing to cre­ate a new lan­guage and unique look for the Na’vi had to be a hard task, but in the 15 years it took to make the movie, they came out look­ing amazing.

I’ve al­ready seen this movie twice and will def­i­nitely be buy­ing it. Though the story line is a bit drawn out and lacks at times, it is a mi­nus­cule de­tail to every­thing else go­ing on in the film. This movie is some­thing that every­one has to see to be­lieve. Avatar is in 3D and is cur­rently still in the­aters. Be sure to check it out!
