Avatar is a must see film for action lovers and anyone who wants a totally new movie experience. The special effects are the best I’ve ever seen. With a whole new world for director James Cameron to create, he definitely doesn’t hold back.
You are dropped onto the planet of Pandora, where humans are harvesting a rare ore called unobtainium. The only thing that is blocking their access to the motherload of ore, and money, is the home of the locals called the Na’vi. The avatar program is designed to find a diplomatic solution to move the Na’vi so the humans can mine the unobtainium. Here is where Jake Sully’s (Sam Worthington) adventure begins. The avatar program is an out of body experience where a human’s brain waves are put into a matching genetic body that looks like a Na’vi. Along the way he meets a local named Neytiri (Zoe Saldana). She is told to teach him the way of the Na’vi and this is where the story changes altogether.
Pandora is so thoughtfully created and mind-boggling that you won’t want to look away. The landscape and many new native animals are ingenious and will have you wanting more. The Na’vi are also a great achievement for the director. Having to create a new language and unique look for the Na’vi had to be a hard task, but in the 15 years it took to make the movie, they came out looking amazing.
I’ve already seen this movie twice and will definitely be buying it. Though the story line is a bit drawn out and lacks at times, it is a minuscule detail to everything else going on in the film. This movie is something that everyone has to see to believe. Avatar is in 3D and is currently still in theaters. Be sure to check it out!
You were so right Zach! I went and watched this movie and DANG! IT’S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I was on the edge of my seat for the entire film! It really didn’t feel like it was 3 hours long either. =D
