Key Club Needs More Members
Fri Jan 29, 2010—
According to Brandon Pritchett, President of Rhea County High School’s Key Club, new members are needed to continue the club next year. At the current time, there are only three underclassman participating in the club and its many activities. Once the many upperclassman members graduate, there will not be enough members to even take office. “Without new members,” says Pritchett, “Key Club will face termination.”
Key Club is hoping to induct new members and quickly. Voting for officer positions could start as early as next month and without a proper amount of members, the club will be unable to train the new members, and therefore, have to be discontinued. “Key Club looks great on a college application; we help the Kiwanas Club, Unicef, and our new project will help Haiti. You only have to pay $13 and come to the meetings every Tuesday in Mrs. Cooksey’s room during the first half of lunch to be a good member,” says Pritchett, “Key Club is not a commitment that you will regret.”
In order to raise money, get students interested in Key Club, and spread the love this Valentine’s Day, Key Club members are offering ‘Val-grams.’ These special telegrams will be delivered to your sweet heart for only $.50. As an added bonus and for only $1.00, Pritchett, Key Club President, will deliver the message personally while wearing cupid wings. This is an opportunity one must not miss.
“As I like to say— Ask not what Key Club can do for you; ask what you can do for Key Club. Come on in to a meeting or ask fellow members how to join this terrific experience,” says Pritchett.
