Lead Sails Paper Anchor
Tue Apr 7, 2009—

This is not the young child out of the German novel The Neverending Story, Atreyu is a metalcore band from the O.C.! As original as their name, Atreyu’s music is truly unique. With the extreme guitar playing and constant beat of the drums going, Atreyu is a great band for anybody who enjoys up-beat music.
A metalcore band from Orange County, California, Atreyu first formed in 1998. The band consists of vocalist/lyricist Alex Varkatzas, guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel, bassist Marc McKnight and drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller.
Since 1998, the band has released four studio albums, Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses, The Curse, A Death-Grip on Yesterday, and Lead Sails Paper Anchor, each of which have sold more than 200,000 copies. Atreyu was number 8 on the Billboard 200 in 2007 and has released four Singles in the past two years. With songs like “Doomsday,” “Lose It,” “No One Cares,” “Can’t Happen Here,” and “Slow Burn,” I find this album to be the best out of Atreyu’s collection.
With different moods throughout the CD, there’s no way you could get bored while listening to it. Some songs are slower than others, but they pick up somewhere through the song or the next track. Heavy areas are nicely complemented by the slower areas afterwards.
If you like Bullet For My Valentine, Seether, or Avenged Sevenfold, chances are very high that you will enjoy Atreyu and their Lead Sails Paper Anchor album.

Awesome review….makes me want to go out and pick up the CD.
